Little Boy, Liar
02:36
|
|||
Remember the boy who threw a paper airplane,
He said that it went all the way from there to there…
Then it hovered in the air?
He was a liar.
Remember the boy who said that his mother found
an egg with an apple stem?
He swore that’s what she found-
She thought that it was Easter.
He was a liar.
He still is a liar.
I am
I am a liar.

Failed Music
03:08
|
|||
mundane smile, black shirt
"sweet tat, yo”, grey pants
I know that someday that dreaded sea
will turn us all to dust.
Failed Music
I was afraid to hitchhike
Then I stuck out my genetically perfect thumb
I wrangled me a hitch.
He flashed me a peace sign
I threw him the finger
The other one lit a forest fire
He still sucks his thumb too
Failed music
This is Failed Music
The Samaritans aren’t praying anymore
At least not together
A day in the life of the perfect bola tie
You can find me at the lowest bar in the world
Good luck swimming, there’s too much salt
It’s the Dead Sea, ya know?
This is Failed Music
I’ve failed at music

Return To Sender
02:56
|
|||
Every morning the ritual begins
“Come on! Come one! Get inside!”, He Says
The man is yelling for his dog to come in,
but the pooch don’t seem to listen.
He walks to the mailbox that’s one house away
He walks there maybe four times a day
He walks, and walks, and walks but won’t stay
Until the mailman has brought the mail for the day.
Though the mailbox has two names on its face
The man hangs letters unopened that say,
“Return to sender
Recipient has passed away”

Little Sparrow
02:54
|
|||
If we could go to see the day
When our mind gone
Our family gathers round
To share joy and sing song.
Your nephew comes with his guitar
To sing a coupla tunes.
That spark a faint memory
In your minds congested truth.
He Sings,
“I wish I was a little sparrow
and I wings to fly away.
I’d fly till it came
My fate delivered
But before I go,
I would be free”
When we go to see that day
As your leaving from your room
A placard hangs outside your day
Presenting your life through and through
You go downstairs to say, “Hello”
To a forgotten family.
You’ll sing,
“I wish I was a little sparrow
and I wings to fly away.
I’d fly till it came
My fate delivered
But before I go,
I would be free”

Switch Roller
04:13
|
|||
When I head you crying from the other room
I knew it was because of me
From this I learned that I could hurt you
Just like you’d hurt me too
But I never thought
these we things I could do
I never knew
That I could, and I would
Switch roles with you.
I called you on the phone today
But you couldn’t even speak
You said “I’ll call you later, son.
I’m so proud, you mean so much to me.”
You don’t need to say anything
I’ve always know that to be true
You mind think it’s kind of strange for me to say
But I am also proud of you.
But I never thought
these we things I could do
I never knew
That I could, and I would
Switch roles with you.

G Maj Thing
01:06
|
|||
Stop titling things as "G major" when your guitar is clearly out of tune!
A g major triad has a precise amount of air wiggles.
I’m tired of these lies!

On Your Side
04:21
|
|||
Why did you leave me here tonight?
Why did you leave without a fight?
This was supposed to be a special day,
But I was tossed away.
It was a love with scattered parts,
The kind of love that’s slow to start.
With sturdy roots it finally bloomed
But you had doubts stuffed inside you.
But I was on your side!
I thought we couldn’t part.
But with all you’ve kept inside
I can never see you again!
Yet again, I’m here to mend
The reasons why you still defend
With vacant stares
I cannot see
Why you did this to me.
But I’ll be on your side!
But we’ll always be apart
Take this last “goodbye”
You’ll never see me again.
But I’ll be on your side!

Like And End

This feels like an end.
God is the Sun, Jesus is the Moon,
Buddha is the Stars, Allah is the Bridge.
This feels like an end.

All That I'll Ever Need
03:52
|
|||
On a desert highway
Sits and old shoe store.
“In the desert, you’ll need shoes”
Says the sign on the door.
The shopkeep is withered
He has no shoes of his own
There’s nothing closer than
Two hours drive from his store
When I walked through the doorway
And saw his dirty toes
I said, “It seems a little strange
To be barefoot in this store!”
He said, “I see how you may think that,
But it’s not so strange to me.
If I had shoes on my feet,
I might have somewhere else to be.
But I’ll that I will ever need
Is always right here with me.”
I said, “If you moved to the city
and reopened your store.
You’d find that with people,
You’d sell your shoes more.”
He said, “It’s true that in the city,
The money would pour,
but when people want money,
They always need more.
Now that you are here with me,
Can you finally see?
All that you will ever need
is with you when you want it to be.”
